I got really excited when the latest blow out sale had a Seagate 320 G Sata HD on sale.  So I purchased it for my PC.  Then I decided that I rather have it for my notebook computer, and went online and purchased the AMS enclosure for the HD, not realizing that it's IDE and not Sata like the HD.  Both of the items were REALLY good ...

I have my current one as an ide 7200 rpm hard drive or I could change it to a sata 5400 rpm laptop drive I have layin around. Im kinda new to sata soo which would have a faster boot and over all better performance? Ooh and im dual booting with xp and vista 64 bit if that helps.

When i turn my computer on, i get a black screen with the words: '' A disk read error occurred press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart''  and when the computer restarts it does the same thing.
