    Nvidia 180.48 driver is out

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x64_180.48_whql.html make sure you pick the right OS to download.

Some users might like the multi-monitors support from SLI now.

Anandtech already test out the driver on review http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3462.

Been using 180.42 and 180.43, maybe this will be more stable in Multimonitor SLI :D

I believed the 180.42 and 180.43 were the beta version, hope you get better stability with the official version.

With this version we can finally choose what card is running our PhysX and the monitor doesn't have to be displaying off of that card. The drivers we have been waiting for!

Now lets go see what configuration gets us the best visual and best performance. Big Smile

Correct, that, and just as a personal annoyance (and this isn't a big deal) but I just figured for the sake of being proper and giving people the impression that they're speaking to an intelligent person, some level of proper grammar should be used. "drivers is" isn't very proper.  The correct phrase would be "drivers are" or "driver is".

Re: Nvidia 180.48 drivers is out

Running the new drivers on my 8800GT's in SLI on 3DMark Vantage with PhysX enabled, the lower tests scored lower (EG had E41779, now only score a E40430) But with the settings maxed I made a good improvement as it went from X3320 to a X4220.  On 3DMark06 on base settings I dropped about 500 points (from 17778 to 17311)

So I'm getting pretty mixed results on the new drivers. I haven't tested them for stability in games yet.

Re: Nvidia 180.48 drivers is out

In the anandtech review that I posted above the gaming performance didn't improved, so physX probably still not being implemented for gaming.

Turning PhysX off and back on, I see no difference in framerates, but I DO see the difference in what I see while playing them Cool

Keep in mind a lot of these drivers are released for further optimization with benchmarks, to make their cards "look" better. I know for a fact there were drivers released by AMD for the 4800 series early on which were designed specifically to increase scores in 3DMark Vantage, while actual in-game performance didn't make as much of a difference.

Unless there is a specific fix in the update log for the drivers that allows you to get better performance for certain games, don't expect too big of a breakthrough. AMD's drivers just barely started maturing for the 4800 series, so there have been overall improvements with each driver release, but that's only because they had total c**p drivers when the cards first came out.
