    System Optimization

So, I was using EasyTune6. It came with my MoBo, so I was wondering, If I took some screenshots, if you guys could maybe give me some tips for optimizing my build. Here's what I have.

    -GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS4P
    -Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
    -G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000
    -MSI 9800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3
    -PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W

So anyone wanna take a look?

    Re: System Optimization

Nice build. You will want to overclock using BIOS for Processor/FSB/Memory. For the video card, you should use Riva Tuner.

I would suggest bumping that FSB to 367 to get an extra 300Mhz out of the processor (provided it is properly cooled - use Coretemp for that). You need to tweak the memory to run faster in BIOS so it goes to stock DDR2 1000, then with overclock will boost up a bit past 1000Mhz. As per video card, ensure proper cooling, then add some Mhz to get good heat/performance (we do not want to overheat just for a little performance). Definitely give those Shaders a larger bump as they have quite high tolerance levels. Tolerance generally: Shaders > GPU > MEM so overclock graciously with Shaders then less so with GPU and even less so with MEM.

    Re: System Optimization

Question, since I'm new at this. If my FSB speed is at 333MHz, how would bumping it to 367MHz give me and extra 300MHz? This is all new to me. Thanks for your reply. I'll definitely be buying a new CPU fan (Which do you suggest, hopefully being under $50).

    Re: System Optimization

    You have to remember your multiplier at preset speed 333 X 9 = 2997mhz or 3.0ghz if you increase the multiplyer to 10 X 333 = 3330mhz or 3.3ghz 0r as slm said 9 X 367 = 3303mhz or 3.3 ghz thus your 300mhz increase.Yes

If you wanna overclock, spend more bucks on a decent cooler. Yes
