Question about a few budget graphic cards.

Ok. Right now, I am stuck deciding on what graphics card I should buy.

     I currently have my eyes on the 9800gt(either 512mb or 1gb), 9800gtx(or gtx+), and the HD 4850.

     The 9800gt (1gb)

    The 9800gt (512)

    The 9800 gtx+

    The 9800gtx

    The HD 4850

I plan to use this computer at a 1920 x 1200 or 1920×1080 resolution, and being able to play most games (at least at medium settings, besides crysis) at that resolution without much lag, while having a "dual monitor" with 1024x768 resolution on the side.

So... what would be the best for me? Currently I chose a 9800gtx, but there are so many choices, I don't know which one to chose...

Also, I plan to build this around christmas, so I would think some of the prices might drop.

Last, Can you check my build and see if there are any modifications you would make? I plan to OC the processor to around 3.2 ghz.

    9800GTX+ or 4850. Flip a coin.

What is better in overall performance?

Re: Question about a few budget graphic cards.

My buddy has 2 machines and each one has one of those cards. The 9800GTX+ runs hotter and uses a hair more wattage (320W over 300W on 4850). We can't see a real difference in performance while playing Crysis, HL2, or various racing games. They both have freakin amazing pictures. Granted, monitors play a role in this too.

If I'm not mistaken, the 4850 is cheaper (as of right now) so that may be a good selling point.

When I said "flip a coin" I was pretty much saying they are the same perormance-wise

Why would you pay that much for a 4850? There's the Sapphire 4850 for only $130 (after $20 MIR). It's still got the aftermarket cooler, and it's cheaper than the other 4850 and 9800GTX+.

HD 4850 9800GTX+ run neck and neck.

    9800GTX should be fine.

9800GT 512MB VS 1GB not good but if you run maximum resolution the 1GB version should be better.

and of course, HD 4850 vs 9800GTX+ it  is a matter of personal taste Nvidia or ATI, that is the question.
