    Diamond ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 X2 PCIE 2048MB GDDR5 V

I have an X48 chipset (INTEL), and have seen the note in the Diamond specs that quad Crossfire is supported by an AMD board.  Are two cards supported by this chipset in Crossfire mode?

A quick Google, b/c I wasn't sure myself, showed that 2 x 4870X2s will run on an X48, but looks like some folks have issues with FPSs , scaling, and some games not taking advantage of the 4 GPUs.

But then again, one 4870X2 should be ample power for a 24" monitor. So the benches show, again, depending on the game.

    Penewah!

Thanks for the info. . .That's a lot of wampum to put out if one is uncertain of the outcome.  I think that I'll give the two cards a try.  That should keep me off the streets at night. . .

    Thanks again.
