I understand the logic of expecting prices to go down. New item come in, older stuff no longer wanted as much. This just isn't gong to be the case here. There will be a gradual introduction of the i7s for those who can afford them. Most folks can't even afford the 45nms as it is. I've wrote this before, and will repeat here. Intel generally doesn't drop their prices until forced too. AMD doesn't have anything right now that would warrant price drops. To drop prices now on 45nms would only kill sales of the i7s , and I suspect Intel isn;t going to do that to itself. doesn't make sense from a biz standpoint. In time they'll go down, especially when the Denebs come out and AMD drops there prices even more to compete, and then you'll see the quads go down, but ten I suspect not so much. Intel would rather discontinue some CPus then drop prices, which they have already announced.
So it's a wait and see.
Penewah!
