    CPU Upgrade

I recently finished building a new system and a few weeks ago I won an ATI 4870x2 in a contest and had it replace the 3850 I used to have. Now I've noticed that my performance has increased, but not to the degree I would expect.

I'm thinking something in my system is bottlenecking the performance so my question is: Would upgrading my CPU or Memory help my performance more?

AMD 6000+ 3.2ghz OCd dual core processor

    2gigs DDR2 800 mhz ram

    Re: CPU Upgrade

for sure a better CPU will enhance the performance. IMHO, 3.2GHz should be fine and as you know, there are not many CPU independent games so far to take full adavantage of the quad core processor. but It is still better to get a QUAD 9950. just to make sure your motherboard can handle it.

and the more memory, the better. at least, 4GB memory is not bad.

Which do you think would be the more limiting factor on my performance though? I recently ordered a new watercooling system so I only have enough money to either buy 4gigs of ram or a 9950 can't budget both atm.

Get the 9950 first. then the RAM later.
