    Fileserver: 2.5-inch Harddrives

I am adding more storage to my home-network and am curious if I can drop my wattage if I use the 2.5-inch laptop/notebook internal drives in RAID-5.  Has anyone attempted to use those types of drives in that configuration?  I did a google search and only came up with one site talking about a single-drive file-server.  Single drives don't work for someone who already had nearly 4TB of space. :P  The reason I ask is simply because I have been using the Pentium M for all of my file-servers in the past and I would like to keep using them because of their lower wattage draw.

    Thanks in advance,

    BooSok

A higher efficiency power supply, a modern motherboad with a low wattage CPU will go a long way.

The wattage decrease you're talking about wih 2.5 inch drive isn't worth it considering the price to gigabite ratio.
