When RMA a CPU or Motherboard

When someone RMA's a CPU or Motherboard.  New egg should include THERMAL PASTE with the returned unit to the customer.  New Egg knows you have to re-seat the heat sync to the CPU and motherboard, and to buy it again on New Egg and ship it is 20 buck or more!!. It only cost New Egg 1 dollar (for the quality stuff) at wholesale.  Finding QUALITY thermal paste locally, at a retailer is almost impossible to many, but sooo easy for New Egg.

And who will reimburse Newegg for the cost of the paste? The manufacturer? Unlikely.

It's not your fault or Newegg's fault a piece of hardware is faulty, why are you trying to pass the cost on to Newegg? Just a question.

Oh and those $10-$20 tubes of paste? They contain MULTIPLE APPLCAITIONS, so if you have some, theere is enough left over for 2 or 3 (or more) reapplcations

They sold a product that was supposed to work.  It failed.  It cost me time and money.  The thermal paste included in the return is a sound business practice for New Egg.  The easing of the return process for RMA's is always a good business practice.

I'm sorry a component failed for you, I've encountered this before, but this is the way the RMA system works.

Can you tell me if any other online retailers make it a PRACTICE to include complimentary thermal paste?
