My first build, was a Cheep case off Ebay, many moons ago.............. First one I built from scratch anyway. They no longer sell/make it.

I used the NZXT Apollo black case for my build...

Gms--Do you think this thread should be moved to a different forum, since it's not really an introduction?

Re: What computer case did you use for ur first build

I have no idea what the brand name or manufacturer is but I have still got it and have modded it to the volcano Case which my wife claimed and has been using it since then.

Chieftec Dragon here.  I still like the look of those cases.  And at the time, I thought that the Dragons had one of the better interior layouts.

Re: What computer case did you use for ur first build

for those who enjoy links to old deactivated items:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811126009

Newegg had it on sale on the front page for $18.00.  I used a jigsaw to cut a hole in the side acrylic and mount an 80mm fan over my athlon xp and get it from 1.47ghz to 2.1.  Doesn't compare to my latest Lian Li, but not bad for 18 bucks.

edit 20 mins later: I've just spent 20 minutes browsing through old Newegg junk by changing the item numbers manually.  Interesting seeing some manufacturers I've never heard of.  Check out Old Man Newegg with the digi-cam and grey carpet: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811126004

Recycled Gateways.  First case I bought was an Antec 900 - what an upgrade!  If anybody needs a free 300 watt PSU, I've got a bunch.  Old machines gave me a great supply of spare parts, although not all of them are useful any more.

    Has ALOT of room  :)

its considered a Super full tower. bigger than a normal full tower.

    Wish i had the money for this case,will have to wait till the price goes down;

Re: What computer case did you use for ur first build

For my first build I have no idea what the case brand was.  It was some generic case with, I think, a 200 or 250watt psu.  Of course at the time that actually was way more than enough power.

Currently I have a Gigabyte 3d Aurora for my main system, a NZXT case of some sort for my htpc, a Lian Li case for a secondary system and I just picked up a Coolmaster HAF to put another secondary system in.

Re: What computer case did you use for ur first build

    A PC Power & Cooling Mid Tower....which I am still using...from 12-15 years ago.

I cut a hole in the side and added an intake fan...then took out the bottom front  cage and added an intake fan there.

I really would like something better but am too cheap..and this seems to work.  You sure aren't going to find anything as solid as this.

Re: What computer case did you use for ur first build

I believe the case I used for my first ever build was some generic brand with a gigantic (size of the side door) side fan.

I use it as my HTPC case now, boy that thing brings back some memories Smile.

Used a full tower Lian-Li, black aluminum, watercooled, etc.

Pretty good case, the price was a bit high though.

Re: What computer case did you use for ur first build

My first was an old Apevia ( I can't even remember what they used to be called ) X-Dreamer, beige of course with no cool window or anything, just a c**p 350W PSU.

Now I'm chilling with my Coolermaster Centurion 5 w/ Acrylic Window.  Great case!

Re: What computer case did you use for ur first bu

Some beige generic (Taiwan or Korea) desktop flat style with cool push tabs on either side that allowed you to pop the top without taking screws off, and the top hatch would swing open and stop on extended rails at about 110o angle open.

Nice bit of room for my XT style motherboard.

Oh, came with a massive 38W (not a typo 38W) FSB power supply too. [I thought it was 85W, but got my info corrected.]

    Freedom's the Answer.

Re: What computer case did you use for ur first bu

First comp was a Dell, but I guess that doesn't count...

First custom rig was in an Apevia (then Aspire) X-Plorer - blue no less.
