No I don't own the card.  But in my opinion, it's not worth the money. If your looking to get a Creative card look at this option.

     http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102024

It's the same card you posted, minus all the "Fatality" flim flam and less the front panel.   Save you 100.00 bucks.

However if you are looking for a high end sound card, allow me to offer a couple of options.

    ASUS XONAR D2X 7.1 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132005

    AuzenTech X-Fi Prelude 7.1 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829156005

    HT OMEGA CLARO Plus+ 7.1 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829271003

A few things to consider.  Unless you have a decent speakers, there is really no need to go all out on a sound card.  You can have the best sound card in the world, but sub-par speakers will make any sound produced sound sub-par.   If you are a headphone user, get a mid-range card and call it good.   Many of the new cards out will have the front panel AC97 connections.

I have this card and its been great. From what I can tell its the card you posted without the breakout box. I was using integrated audio before switching to this card so I cant compare it to other priced cards. However, it solved my audio problems and the subtle sounds of my games sound excellent.

    Re: xpensive

    Thank you.

My front panel gave me two choices, AC97 or HD, the Asus motherboard book said HD was the better choice.

Is AC97 the way to go when I install the new sound card ?

    I have six speakers.

Well, wait the front panel has nothing to do with the sound card. The front panel audio is "only" for the head phones, I think.

Why is the Asus card giving me so many RCA cables ?

If you just purchase the Asus D2X sound card, just to let you know that the 4pin floppy connector can be bend quite easily if you accidently push too hard to get connect the pin and the connector together.  That is what I did and had to send it to get repair, no fee just shipping cost.

It looks like the front panel is for headphones, mic volume and an external aux RCA.   Not worth the money really.   Your computer already has the jacks for that.

Also, the original Creative card I posted is the same card as what Postal posted up, minus the shroud and Fatality name.  Losing the Fatality logo and the shroud saves you 45.00.

Honestly for the money spent on the higher end cards, I would not go with Creative.  The ASUS card you mentioned would be an excellent choice.

Indeed. A tidbit I wish I would have known when I bought my card! Frustrated
