    Diablo III questions/thoughts

Anyone know if you can select genders with the character classes in the new Diablo III coming out?

Anyone know what the system specs are? or if they're even released yet?

Im looking forward to this game. Wish this was coming out before SC2

    thoughts?

    Re: Diablo III questions/thoughts

Players will create a male or female hero from one of five distinct classes.

I'm guessing by what I've read that it probably won't be released until later 2009. Blizzard always seems to take their time to ensure they come out with a quality game.

I don't know what the system requirements will be but I read that it will be a new 3d engine that creates lush landscapes and such, so I'm guessing that the requirements will be on up there.

The Blizzard team is probably working alot on the WoW expansion now trying to work all the bugs out before its release in a month.

I'm so excited about selecting genders!!! I think it's going to bring a new level of customization to the game, which in my opinion is what it really needed.

Knowing blizzard, we'll be waiting until the next blizcon to see this game released :P

You guys hear about Starcraft 2 being 3 seperate titles with 3 release dates?  I'm excited for extra content, but at the same time, at 50$ a game, that's 150$ to be able to play the campaing of all 3 races.  Kinda seems like a bit of a money making scheme to me.  Personally I think they could have made one huge game and charged more for it, but what do i know?

    Re: Diablo III questions/thoughts

The SC2 expansions are just for single player campaigns basically and from what I understand won't affect multiplayer. We will still be able to play all three races in multiplayer with the main working title. Hopefully the expansions will be cheaper, like around $20-$25.

    Re: Diablo III questions/thoughts

Does anyone know ANYTHING about the othe two classes? What could they even be?

I mean, they HAVE to have some sort of an archer or something.

And have you read that batttle.net will start charging people for certain features of the game? More on that will come out soon. They said it wouldnt be monthly subscription, but some 'monetary' fees will apply somewhere along the line. Hmmph

Also, I looked around for it, but couldnt find any info about it. Maybe you guys could help. In multiplayer, when you join a game, your experience and stats and loots that you receive while playing with other players, does all of that carry over to your single player character?

In Diablo 2, Battle.net characters were treated differently from Single Player characters. Basically, with a single player character you could play together over LAN or direct internet connection and switch back to single player, however the Battle.net characters could only be played online using battle.net, and the character data was stored on Blizzards servers.

So if they do it the same way, Your Battle.net character would be playable only online via battle.net but your single player characters can be played with others on a LAN (local area network) game, or direct connect (in which players type your IP address into their game to connect directly to your host).

One of the underlying successes of Battle.net is that it never charged you for playing, if they do plan on charging for this service I think they need to be adding more functionality to the online multiplayer arena....as in, Battle.net only game modes, special items, etc. I would really prefer them keep this free however since this game is really not an mmorpg (which is a good thing).

As for the classes missing classes, I'd assume some sort of hunter or ranged fighter, and a thief or blade fighter (like the assassin).

    That's what she said...

I really hope they keep the online play free.  I never enjoyed the online play like the SP mode but I have always hated the thought of "Buy a game and pay more to play it".  Like WOW.
