Can I connect two routers wirelessly?

I got a DIR-655 router and I'm trying to connect wirelessly to another router that is hooked up to my ISP's modem.  I called D-Link tech support and they said it's not possible, but I don't see why two wireless routers can't talk to each other.

Yea, you can. I think this is what you're talking about... I've done this so I can confirm that it does work, with the host router (modem-side) running DLINK and the slave router (network side) running DD-wrt on a wrt54g.

Because there is a difference between YOUR defintion of 'connect' and the IT people's.

If you set one of them to Access Point mode, then your definition is met.....and us IT peoples it is still not met....because changing it to Access Point mode means it IS NOT a Router anymore.
