no sound

This is kicking my but. I have sound in media center for dvd but not for cd and i have no system sounds no sound on the internet.Checked and reinstalled sound drivers .

I assume all the cable are connected and everything is plugged in. Have you tried running signature file checker within windows and scan for any file corruption? You may want to also try reinstalling Windows when all else fails.
