    Wont Open *PROBLEM*

I recently bought parts to put together my first, and custom computer. Primarily for World of Warcraft gaming, and an overall improvement from my GateWay laptop. I hooked everything up, to what I thought, correctly; and when i powered the system up the DVD Drive would open when I pushed the button to open. This could be multiple things, but I havent tried to troubleshoot it cuase I dont know what to do to fix it. I also have another problem with my computer which is located on this forum. Please view that forum as well, cause that is my main problem at the moment. When I get the monitor to work, I will be needing this drive to open up and load almost right away [to install Vista, upgrade drivers via discs, and also other equipment I have].

You will see a little hole in the dvd face plate. Take a paper clip and insert it in that little hole, push and the tray will pop out. This will work even if there is no power to the player.

Stupid question, but did you make sure to plug in the drive to the PSU? If you didn't, it won't open no mater how many times you press the button Wink
