Since many customers who don't frequent these forums don't know that the final leg of DHL shipping is by the USPS, it would be a good idea to ask the customer if the shipping address being provided is served by USPS, when they choose the DHL shipping option.

Many people like myself use a Post Office box instead of a street side mailbox for security reasons.    When I order something for delivery by private carrier, I give my street address, which USPS won't deliver to (at my request).  When I order something for delivery by USPS, I give my PO Box address, which private carriers can't deliver to.  I imagine there are many people out their in similar situations.  I'm guessing that they see "DHL", and think to use their private carrier address, instead of their postal delivery address.

Just a suggestion.

never choose DHL shipping...freaking slow, and they transfer packages to usps....there's a good chance packages will get lost. I'm just fine with UPS.

I agree.  If there is one thing that came out of the previous DHL discussions it became fairly clear that there is some lack of understanding.  While the information is available, perhaps it could be spelled out more clearly on the actual order page.  Honestly, if making it ask a question on it would for whatever reason be too complicated, maybe a little asterisk and footnote, or a parenthetical (must be servicable by US Postal Service).  Sure people will still not pay attention but at least at that point one can rest assured its the people who sould be kept in a padded room to protect them from themselves anyway.

OMFG, I wish I had read and paid attention to the DHL shipping on my order. From Tennessee to NC so far it has been 7 days and still no package. I will pay the $7 or whatever from now on so I won't feel the need to complain. At least with UPS I could get the thing in the normal 2 days from Tenn or Jersey.  Other than the DHL  SNAFU, Newegg shipped the package out promptly.
