I just purchased the Acer Aspire One with 120gb HD, WinXP Home, 1GB ram, 3-cell battery for $349.49.  I noticed that the battery life is nothing to brag about (about 2:30 to 3:00).  Before purchasing, I was unaware that there was a 6-cell version; however, they did not sell this version at the store that I went to (Microcenter).  I'd rather buy something like this from the store, so naturally I bought the 3-cell.  I tried searching online to see if I could find a 6-cell battery for the Acer One, but after all my troubles, I've only been able to find articles about the 6-cell version.  I want to pay under $50 for a 6-cell battery, so is there any place that you could direct me to in order to find this item?

$50 for a laptop battery is super cheap. The 6-cell will run you over $100.

$100 for a 6-cell battery? a little bit expensive for me. buddy, are you always going out with it?  if so, a 6-cell battery is of great help. but if not, AC power is always the best choice.

i think $50 shoud be an acceptable price. 

Heh, I used to have a Sony laptop with the batteries going for $250 a piece. I tried getting an off brand one for $120, and with every charge, 10-15% of the capacity would disappear. So had to shell out $250 for the real deal.

I said sub 50, but I see what you mean.  They are expensive I suppose.  I already bought the computer though, so I don't think there'd be much sense in returning it.  I guess I can make due with a 3-cell...

I don't really care about the price (I'll pay $120 for the battery) so much as I care about the fact that nobody has the damn thing in stock. Every single retailer who lists the 6-cell battery lists it as "Out of stock," "On backorder," "Available in 2-5 weeks," "Special order," and so forth. I can't even find the damn thing on eBay, except for one guy selling one for $150 plus $25 shipping (which is ludicrous). What's the deal here, Acer?

Ah well. I can live with the wall charger I have now plus the car charger I have coming in the near future.
 

i have the 3 cell battery version.  a friend has the 6 cell, and while you get the longer life, it also makes it bulkier and destroys some of the small form benefit.  what i would like is to buy an xtra 3 cell if it wasn't that expensive - i can't find that - do you know where i can buy one and approx price - if it's as expensive as the 6 cell, then i won't do it
