hi,

I would like some suggestions on dvd burners. 

i used to have a ide dvd burner, but it broke, and i need a new one.

i want the best one in write and read speed.

i'm not sure if Sata is better than IDe.

My HDD is connected through sata, does this mean i can use sata dvd burners?

is sata better? if so, i would like sata dvd burner recommendations.

SATA.  I like Pioneer, but Samsung has nice drives also.  The Samsungs have a little faster DVDR burn speeds right now...

yup go with SATA you mobo have 4 sata slots. although the interface will not make much difference. it is still better to go with sata.

It's a solid burner looking at the specs. I have a 16x burner from Pioneer and I have had very good experiences from it. Never given me much trouble at all. Pioneer makes some good solid burners in my opinion.

i think i'll buy the samsung one because it has dvd-rw feature, which some others dont.

and it also has 22x and more reviews than the LG.

 

A SATA drive may offer some performance increase, but I wouldn't get a drive just because it's the fastest. The media you're burning to has a huge impact on how fast it will allow the drive to burn. I buy cheaper disks that usually don't burn well at 16x, so I think it's safe to say since that's all they're rated at, they probably won't do to well at 22x.
