This sounds like the best option for recording from a camera.  The only thing I worry about is that since the technology is so new, there may bea number of compatibility problems along the way.  If you're constricted to only a few codecs, if there are errors found in Final Cut while you're trying to edit, if Compressor doesn't allow as many options for whatever reason, etc.  Anyone heard anything negative about this new recording method?  I don't want to go with MiniDV if it's not going to last very long.  I've been using that for years.

it is still an evolving workfow. and IMO, as P2 card capacity increases, u'll keep spending money for that.

Thanks for the link!  I was thinking about how costly it would be.  Most of the time I would be shooting weddings and that's probably not the best medium to go with unless you get the highest capacity card, which I'm sure is not cheap.  That's why I kind of like the idea of that Panasonic camera that has a P2 slot but also still has a slot for MiniDV tapes.  I don't have to decide on a camera until a long time from now anyway, but I like debating about these things anyway.  Thanks again for the response!
