    if not ill get this then cause it does say it comes with one;

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103249

    i do hope the 9950 comes with one cause i want to get the fastest one  :)  the reason id rather it come with a hsf is cause i dont trust my self with putting the thermal stuff on if i would get a 3rd party hsf,i am afraid i might put too much on :(

    thank you in advance for the help.

    True i saw that too but when i do the selection thing like when ya do for example;

    Desktop processors>AMD>AM2+>2.5GHz - 2.99GHz>with or without hsf> etc.  it dont show up when i select processors that come with a HSF. its the whole reason im asking,sorry i should of been more clear  :(

    Re: Phenom 9950

    Yea, almost ALL of the "Retail" CPU's come with a cooler, just not allot of the BE CPU's (EG: 9850BE)

    Re: Phenom 9950

    Ok thank you. So even though it dont say in the specs it will definitely come with a heat sink and fan?  sorry i dont mean to be a pest i just want to make sure  :(  it would be dissapointing if i would buy the CPU and get it and find out it dont have a hsf  :(

    So if i understand right it would have to say for example Phenom 9950BE  not just Phenom 9950 for it not to come with a fan and heatsink? Sorry still learning all this new stuff  :)

    Re: Phenom 9950

    Yes that retail box 9950 comes with a "stock" fan.

    most retail box cpu's come with a fan.

    No it isn't much good for overclocking, for that you need an aftermarket fan.

    Yes the stock HSF is fine for "Stock" settings / daily use.

    Re: Phenom 9950

    The stock fan that comes with the 9850, 9950 Black Edition chips is substantially nicer than the stock heatsinks that come with their standard quad-cores. Obviously, an aftermarket cooler will give you even more overhead, but the cooler that comes with the above mentioned processors will allow you to do some overclocking(from 2.6 to about 2.9-3.2 depending on your chip)
