If I engage PhysX, will it slow down my fps at all?  If not, great!  If so, is there some equation to show the performance slow-down percentage?

Wile this PhysX is working how much GPU power does it take away as in, the ram, clock, ect.... and if u had SLI runing does this double the power of the PhysX or not??

Re: Ask NVIDIA a PhysX Question - Win a Video Card!

So as I understand it, with PhysX, the PhysX calculations are done over the GPU in order to free up CPU load. However if the GPU is rendering both PhysX and the game, wouldn't this in effect decrease my frame rate?

What is the benefit then of having a PhysX capable card where as a dual-core processor could theoretically handle the same load without decreasing your frame rate?

Is it possible to install and configure video cards with PhysX capability into computing clusters such as TeraGrid in order to improve overall performance?

Re: Ask NVIDIA a PhysX Question - Win a Video Card!

I like many others am eagerly awaiting the comming release of both Diablo III and StarCraft 2.. in fact I have been musing for a while on hardware I will get for the machine I plan to build just for theese two games.  Up untill recently I was quite set on ATI because I plan on using AMD however the question of cpu bottlenecking is starting to be a real concern for current gen graphics cards even with pretty good cpu's so asuming this trend will not completly reverse itself for next gen gaming what kind of advantage would one realize with a good physics cand would this be enough to aswage the need for an extremely expensive cpu?

Also since both of theese games are comming from the same company I'm curious how well blizzard works with physics is this a technology they have already embraced and what will physics be like for the games comming out in the next year will it's potential be much more realized?

    Thanks

     Mark
