No to both Sovet and Wanna.

    *edit*

Okay guys...  After throwing around some banter with Sovet, I noticed that I had made a repetitive mistake in the creation of this puzzle.  While not making it impossible to solve, it definitely would have thrown you off.  I have corrected the errors, and the puzzle is still in play!

You may have to refresh the page for the corrected image to appear.

Even if you're stumped, keep posting to let me know "where you are".  That way, when I put up a clue, it won't be useless.

    Re: The EggXpert Prize Box

If I had enough of the 3rd 4th and 5th word of the second paragraph I think I'd have it. I've pretty much stopped working on it though, the system is too easily muddled to be translated properly with what little is given, and the fun is long gone at this point.

    Re: The EggXpert Prize Box

And swooping out of nowhere with the correct answer of 4245 (the year) is evermooingcow!  You may now select a number from the Prize Box!

Also, care to share how you solved it?

On a side note, I'm gonna be at class/work until 6pm (eastern), so there probably won't be any updates until at least then.  I've got a couple of tests this week to boot, so it may be awhile before I get the next puzzle up...

    Re: The EggXpert Prize Box

The white ball and the four black balls below are indeed the Sun and the first four planets which orbit the Sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.

The squiggles next to the planets are their names. Each characteristic piece of a squiggle maps to letters of the alphabet. The letters within the squiggle follow a general template of how they should look but it's shape within a word is also determined by letters adjacent to it. It is somewhat like writing in cursive. The need to connect letters together in a line causes some to morph slightly to fit naturally with its neighbors.

After spending some time I arrived at the following:

    have decided
    to leave
    third planet
    following
    release of
    atomic
    weaponry
    ------------
    will return in
    twenty
    three
    hundred
    rotations about
    star

2300 years + the year of first nuclear weapon testing (1945) = 4245

    I choose 69.

Wow, i didnt even know where to start on this one.  There are some great conceptual minds here on eggxpert.  At first I looked at the puzzle and was like WTF, what the heck am i suppose to do? Then SC, started throwing out numbers and I was futher confused how any numbers  were derived.  Amazing and congrats to you both SC and evermooingcow.

    Re: The EggXpert Prize Box

That explanation is right on the nose, evermooingcow!  I'm on my notebook at school right now, but as soon as I get back home I'll update the Prize Box image and let you know what you've chosen.

For the record, I've got ideas for three more puzzles currently in mind, two of which are (intended to be) quite a bit easier than this one.  The third I'm hoping will be somewhat like this one, though (insert maniacal laugh here).  I'm planning on throwing that one at you guys over the weekend, since the graphic for it will take me awhile to put together.  If I don't have a new puzzle up by tonight, I will by tomorrow evening.

    Re: The EggXpert Prize Box

Incredible evermooingcow. That is exactly what I did, I even came to the conclusion of the letters changing due to their adjacent letter because I had studied a bit of arabic, but it threw me so off that I only got the last two letters of the first word right. the only part I dont understand is the letter A, which changes too much between earth and Mars, unless im missing something.
